The attack comes shortly after a large-scale drone strike by Ukraine destroyed Russian aircraft at distant airbases. Meanwhile, Ukrainian cities including Sumy, Odessa, and Chernihiv have experienced continued Russian attacks, resulting in civilian casualties. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for stronger international action to pressure Moscow into a ceasefire.
