Some have switched to sourcing beef from Australia, which is not subject to tariffs, while others have turned to Brazil or Russia for chicken feet, though they note differences in quality and taste compared to American products.

Suppliers and restaurant owners report that the instability of U.S. product supply and higher prices have forced them to adapt, with some keeping small personal reserves of favored American ingredients. The economic downturn in China has also made consumers more sensitive to price increases, further impacting demand for higher-cost imported foods. Many in the industry hope for a resolution to the trade tensions, which could restore access to preferred American ingredients.
