OpenAI is reportedly offering attractive terms, such as early access to new AI models and a guaranteed 17.5% minimum return, in its proposed $10 billion joint venture with firms like TPG, Bain Capital, Brookfield, and Advent.

Anthropic is also seeking similar partnerships, notably with Blackstone, but without matching OpenAI's financial incentives. The joint venture structure allows for the costly process of AI deployment and customization to be managed separately, potentially improving the parent companies' financial outlooks ahead of possible IPOs. However, some firms, including Toma Bravo, have opted out, citing concerns about the necessity and economics of such arrangements.
