The data also shows a generational shift, with younger Europeans more likely to have completed upper secondary education and vocational training compared to older adults. Women continue to surpass men in higher education attainment, with nearly half of women aged 25 to 34 holding a degree, compared to 38.7% of men.

Women continue to outpace men in higher education across the EU. Nearly half of women aged 25 to 34 had completed some form of higher education in 2024. Compared to 38.7% of men, that gap widened by just over 1% in 10 years.
