A flooding incident occurred in Weld County, Colorado, after an irrigation canal failed and overflowed onto nearby roads and properties. The Weld County Sheriff's Office confirmed the failure, which was attributed to heavy rainfall that caused water levels to rise rapidly and breach the canal's banks. 

Local emergency management officials reported that at least nine yards were flooded, and some homes may have sustained permanent damage. The canal is owned by the Farmer's Reservoir and Irrigation Company. Authorities are continuing to investigate the situation and determine responsibility for the flooding.

This is video. Our crews got on the scene. The Weld County Sheriff's Office confirms to us the irrigation ditch failed around 1 30 this morning. The county's Office of Emergency Management tells us that heavy rain from last night's storms caused a rapid rise in water levels which overflowed the banks. Another Denver seven viewer tells us that at least nine yards were flooded and homes may be permanently damaged. So we're told that the canal is owned by Farmer's Reservoir and Irrigation Company. Denver seven will keep pushing for answers about what exactly happened here and who is responsible for the flooding damage.
