In Somalia, the cuts have made an already dire situation worse. The needs here are enormous. Many communities, many children, many families are very vulnerable following drought years over the last few years, the loss of livelihoods, the loss of livestock, and they're in desperate need. At the same time that they face desperate needs with drought, with climate change impacts, they're of course suffering now the impact of aid cuts. This mother worries about what could happen if vaccinations run out. We need the vaccination to be increased and we also want medicine. Children suffer every problem that arises if they miss vaccination and medicine. Health workers are warning thousands of children are at risk. On average, we receive over 60 people every day. Those who are vaccinated come from the camps and remote jungles. If vaccination runs short, we fear diseases will increase and spread. The diseases include whooping cough and polio. If they're not immunized, the diseases will spread. Humanitarian workers here in Somalia and other parts of Africa are again raising the alarm.
