Ukrainians take arduous route from Russian-occupied regions

Since March 2023, a government-run shelter in the Ukrainian city of Sumy has accommodated 21,000 Ukrainians living in Russian-occupied territories. The Kolotilovka-Pokrovka checkpoint in northeastern Ukraine is currently the only passage for Ukrainian citizens returning to their homeland.
