Two men were charged with murder, accused of conducting a fatal drive-by shooting in Ambarvale which resulted in the death of a 65-year-old woman.

A 65-year-old woman, Kim Duncan, died after being struck by a bullet that entered her home in Ambarvale, NSW. Police have arrested two men, aged 34 and 19, who have been charged with murder in connection with the incident. Detectives believe the shooting was related to a personal dispute involving someone at the residence, but confirm Duncan was not the intended target. A third suspect remains at large. Authorities state that the suspects were seen on camera swapping vehicles after the shooting, and investigations are ongoing.

Struck in the leg by a bullet that came flying through the walls of her home just before midnight on a Monday night in April, Kim Duncan took her last breath in the arms of her son Shane. I was just yelling out, my mum's been shot, my mum's been shot. As they consoled the grieving family, police vowed to track down those who pulled the trigger. Today's two arrests go a long way to fulfilling that promise to the family. Overnight, tactical officers swooped arresting 34-year-old Jesse Evans and 19-year-old Manaseh Fakahu. Both have now been charged with murder. Anytime somebody shoots at a house, it's just a cowardly act. Detectives are confident the pair are the same figures caught on camera swapping vehicles after the shooting. A third accomplice is still at large. Kim's son, Shane Dowd, had his own interactions with police and was arrested days after her death for unrelated matters. Home with his partner and mother at the time, he may have been the target. And these weren't hired hitmen. We believe that the people involved had a grudge, an argument or a beef with somebody that lived at that location. Kim Duncan was not the intended target, but detectives are now certain that the shooters had the right address. What may have been intended as a violent threat had unintended consequences. It was only a matter of time before somebody died. And unfortunately, this time it was a 65-year-old grandmother.
