President Trump has called on the Justice Department to investigate the relationships between Jeffrey Epstein and three high-profile Democrats: Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, and Reid Hoffman. This request follows the release of new Epstein emails and comes amid ongoing scrutiny of Trump's own ties to Epstein.

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that an official probe had begun in response to Trump's request. Meanwhile, some Republicans, including Marjorie Taylor Greene, have criticized the president for opposing the release of the full Epstein case files, as the U.S. House prepares to vote on requiring the Department of Justice to make those files public.

President Trump has been unable to shake the questions about his relationship with the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and is now trying to change the focus to others who were allegedly in Epstein's orbit. So this is a Democrat hoax that never ends. The president called for an investigation into three high-profile Democrats who he said had relationships with Epstein. Former President Bill Clinton, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, and venture capitalist Reid Hoffman. All three men's names appear in newly released Epstein emails. Trump posted that these men spent large portions of their life with Epstein and on his island. Soon after, Attorney General Pam Bondi responded to the president on social media saying an official probe had begun. But there is still growing pushback inside the president's own party. Speaking to CBS Mornings, Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene said the president has made a mistake opposing the release of the full Epstein case files. Just being very honest with you is something that I don't understand. I think it's a huge miscalculation and I truly just stand with the women and I think they deserve to be the ones that we're fighting for. With Greene and a handful of other Republicans supporting it, the U.S. House is poised to vote next week on a plan requiring the Department of Justice to release those files. A number of Epstein survivors sent a letter to Congress this afternoon urging them to do so. The administration's handling of the Epstein matter has been inconsistent. In February, the FBI director promised a robust investigation, including into any missing records. In July, the agency said there was no evidence of an Epstein client list or blackmail. And now, Jonna Maurice, the Attorney General, says she'll launch an investigation of Democrats, as requested by President Trump.
