Lucy, who said, I never made a mistake in my life. I thought I did once, but I was wrong. Charles Schultz's characters became as famous as any Hollywood star. Linus and Sally, Peppermint Patty and Pigpen, Franklin and Schroeder, and of course, Snoopy. Their words became catchphrases, happiness is a warm puppy. Joe Cool, rats. Peanuts, a mix of humor and philosophy. I think I've discovered the secret to life, Sally says. You just hang around until you get used to it. The last original strip appeared 25 years ago. The day after Charles Schultz died. But his characters endure in books and animation, theater and parades, and in magical childhood memories. Now, that's so great, it takes you back to a happy place, but did you know, fun fact, Schultz didn't even like the name Peanuts. He wanted to go with little folks, but the bosses wanted Peanuts after the Peanut Gallery on a whole different show, and so it is, ultimately. Even Charles Schultz has to listen to the bosses. My favorite expression, though, is you're a good man, Charlie Brown. It means no matter what happened, being a good person is the key. Ah, yes, so soothing in the end.
