The process involves speaking to a character named Huel in Fairfield to receive a quest that marks the location of the boots needed for the ability.

To obtain the boots, players must navigate to a tower, either by repairing an elevator or taking an alternate route, and retrieve them from a character named Jackson. Completing the quest also involves collecting schematics and keys, and plugging a core into a machine. Players are cautioned that the boots do not prevent fall damage from great heights and should be used primarily for platforming.

There is nothing sadder than only being able to jump once in The Outer Worlds 2. Thankfully, you can very quickly unlock the double jump after landing on Eden's Paradise Island, the first open area after the tutorial. Here's how to get the Plasmatic Augmented Leap Enhancer, plus a few considerations you should make along the way. You can actually run straight to the boots as soon as you land the incognito on the pad, but let's grab a quest that you can complete on the way. Talk to Huel, the man yelling in the green coat next to this terminal in the middle of Fairfield, to learn about a business opportunity. He'll mention the exact location you need to find the boots and mark it on your map. If you run to this elevator, you can either repair it if your engineering is at least level 3, or you can simply take this alternate route up the boxes. When you reach the top and approach the tower, you'll see the previous owner of the boots testing them in... we'll call them non-ideal circumstances. As you approach the body, you'll enter a conversation with two people who want you to climb the tower. Snag the boots from Jackson, along with his schematics to finish Huel's quest. Make sure you take this route on the way up to find an advanced decryption key. Grab the necessary item for the quest, and nab one other key on the backside of the building up top. Plug the core into the machine, and you're done. In fact, you could just run away as soon as you grab the boots in the first place. Finders keepers. Keep in mind Jackson's demise and don't try to use these boots to stop a long fall. If you see the speed lines while falling, it's already too late to jump again, but they can help you get a bit more height and distance while platforming.
