Governor Greg Abbott has deployed thousands of personnel from over 20 state agencies to respond to the crisis, and President Trump is expected to visit the area.

Local residents, volunteers, and organizations such as the Red Cross, World Central Kitchen, and the Salvation Army are providing essential support, including meals, shelter, and supplies. Despite the devastation, the community has shown resilience and unity, with many affected individuals helping each other as recovery efforts continue.

It's been nearly a week since Hurricane Ida hit Texas. Hurricane Ida is a devastating storm that has left thousands of people without a stop. In the small town of Hunt. The recovery effort has turned into a community wide mission. Our alley read is back live this morning from what many consider the beating heart of the operation. Ali The sun is shining there for you this morning. Good morning. Ari and Bernie. Sun is bright this morning. That'll be important for you. I want to talk to you about what's going on here in Hunt, Texas. Specifically here in Hunt, Texas this morning just down the road is Camp Mystic, where we know so many young lives were lost. A number of families just in this area have lost their lives as well. And I want to paint a picture for you before I describe where I am right now. This is incredibly Heavy. What I'm seeing right now is a picture of a family that was found in one of these people's homes. Whether that be baby shoes. Or something like a picture that I just found. I'm not going to turn the picture around because I want to protect this family's identity. But I will be holding onto this photo because I hope that this family has survived. I hope they are here and I want little things like this to be able to get back to those families. But I'm not the only person in this area. I'm also in this area. I'm in this community. I'm in this community. And I'm out of their way to make sure even the littlest things get back to the families and reunited with them. Okay, we can breathe for just a second here. Now that we've gone through that. I want to bring something positive to you this morning again live from Hunt, Texas, just behind me, a volunteer staging area in the distance here where so many people have worked together to make this possible here. So incredible again, not to also mention just how much action has gone into this. I want to take to some video that we took yesterday just to show you what has been happening in this area alone. Rows of tables, tents and trucks really all over the place. But what is most moving is who is behind those tables. So many of the volunteers are locals, people who were affected themselves but are still showing up, giving back to their communities. So this energy here is one of urgency but also compassion. This is where hope meets action and where Hunt, Texas is proving just how strong a small town can be in the face of disaster. We know we see this whole community come together almost immediately, no matter where you were. Neighbors were helping neighbors. People were helping each other. No matter who you go to. I need water even just out here. Hey, we need to get this food to this group out here. Can we have those burgers to take them off? We have more. No problem. Everyone's helping each other and we know that we will rebuild and we know that we will come back. And that just makes it even more beautiful. I know there are people that have been like, oh my gosh, you moved to Kerrville. Are you going to want to move now? No, never. Why would I want to leave this community that's so tight knit and where people look out for each other and stick together? Just grows your heart more. Yeah. Being in this area. And it will be beautiful again. It will. Isn't that a great statement? Yeah. Who would want to leave a community that is as incredible as this one? From handing out warm meals to filling up gas cans. These organizations are helping families meet their most basic needs. Red Cross crews have been working door to door. World Central Kitchen has served thousands of meals across Kerr County, many made by local chefs who stepped up to feed their neighbors. The Salvation Army has been coordinating shelter and supply distribution to help feed their families. While small community groups have created pop up hubs. Again, we bring you back live to Hunt Texas this morning. It is emotional. There is no doubt about it. The stuff that you see here is, um, it's there are no words, Bernie and Ari. There is it's just not. And, um, you know, I think I think what we can agree on is no story is the same. Each one is harder than the last So many people grieving. But as we know, and what we've shared for so long when you go to these communities, what do we say? The people at their lowest are the ones. That go the highest guys. Beautiful beautifully said, Ali.
