An 18-year-old, Malarkey Burke, has appeared in Penrith Court facing six charges related to a series of alleged aggravated break-ins across businesses in western Sydney and the Blue Mountains. Police allege that Burke, along with two co-accused, was involved in a three-week spree targeting locations including a shopping complex, restaurants, and a barbershop, resulting in significant property damage and theft.

Police claim the group stole cash, electronics, and other items, with one business reporting $5,000 in losses. Burke, who represented himself in court, has indicated he will defend the charges. The two co-accused, including a 42-year-old woman alleged to have coordinated the break-ins, are expected to appear in court at a later date.

Police allege Malarkey Burke broke into a Jordan Springs shopping complex in May, forcing entry into Subway, a news agency, a nail parlour and a cafe, before travelling to Ropes Crossing, where he is alleged to have targeted Domino's and a barbershop. Blends and Brothers suffered $5,000 in damage and theft alone. Police allege the teenager's snatch and grab across the businesses included SafeSend teals, hundreds of dollars in cash, an iPad and 30 bags of lollies.
