This is a learning emulation at five and six years old. These kindergartners at Seawind Elementary in Hope Sound are using artificial intelligence. Turn and talk to your partner first. It really helps them with speaking and listening. It's called school AI, a programmable chat bot that's helping students learn reading and comprehension. I connected with district educators and they tell me it's just one of the programs that's being used in Martin County schools. We talk about the setting, the characters, the plot, and so they're really getting practice using that academic vocabulary. A few classrooms over, third graders Ella and Omar are using a program called Class Companion. It's assisting them with writing assignments. When I read, it helps me know better words in the paragraphs. It told me over here to go back and see for if I have any mistakes in my words or letters, and I did, and I didn't know if I actually had one, but I did. Even helping students who are learning English as a second language. The kids can speak to it in different languages like French or Spanish and it will answer them and help them get the English words for those words they already know. The platforms keep students engaged, provide instant feedback, and tailored learning. I'm one person with a classroom of 20. It makes my life so much easier. All while safeguarding academic integrity. We really don't have to worry about them cheating. The program does not give them the answers.
