A new weather system is moving across the Upper Peninsula and Great Lakes region, bringing gusty winds and rain. Higher elevations in the Adirondacks and the Green and White Mountains may see some snow, though amounts are expected to be minor.

The system is forecast to cause windy conditions into the week, with a brief break in precipitation before another round of rain and wind arrives. Residents are advised to secure outdoor items, and travelers may experience flight delays at Northeast airports due to the weather.

Right here comes our next system. Filling in tonight across the UP across the Great Lakes region. The white lines that you see here. Those are isobars and when they're tightly packed like that, it indicates gusty winds. This is going to be quite a windy system, so you got the rain. You got the wind and even a little bit of higher elevation snow up there around the Adirondacks, some of the green and white mountains. Not a ton, but enough now. You'll notice we get a little bit of a break on Tuesday. The winds keep cranking, but a little bit of a break in precipitation. Then we will track our next system that rushes across the country. And brings us another round of that rain. And of course those gusty winds sticking around too. So let's time it out for you. Fairly quiet to go through the day today, but as we head into your Monday morning, those winds are going to start to get gusty. If you are taking those Halloween decorations down or anything like that, just know it's going to be kind of gusty. You might have to hold on extra tight to those inflatables as you're taking them down. Gusty winds across the region there on Wednesday and then another round of these winds picking back up. You could have some flight delays at some of our Northeast area airports. And then of course you can see the rain eventually filling in with this system as well.
