The investment includes the procurement of new radars, anti-aircraft weapons, and electronic warfare platforms, representing more than half of the defence funds allocated earlier in the year.

The Swedish government has signed agreements with domestic manufacturer Saab and BAE Systems Bofors, a subsidiary of the UK-based BAE Systems. Deliveries of the new systems are expected to begin in 2027, with Defence Minister Pal Johnson highlighting the urgency of the package in response to security challenges in Europe following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
