Police in Cleveland are conducting an extensive search after a chase involving a Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office cruiser ended in a crash on the city's east side. The incident began after reports of multiple shots fired in the area, leading to a pursuit that concluded with the sheriff's cruiser crashing into a building and a Kia crashing into a pole nearby.

Authorities from several departments, including Cleveland, South Euclid, and Parma police, are involved in the search for suspects. At least two individuals were arrested after attempting to hide in a pickup truck, while officers continue to use drones and search rooftops for others who may be involved. The investigation is ongoing, and officials are working to determine if there is any remaining threat to the public.

That's where police have shut down multiple roads after a chase and crash involving a Cuyahoga County Sheriff deputy right now. Officers and deputies from several departments are using drones and dogs to search for the suspects involved. Mike Holden joins us live from the scene with the very latest this morning. You see all of the flashing lights right here behind me more than a dozen different police cars posted up right here. But I want to draw your attention to that sheriff deputy cruiser that is pinned up against the side of this building. This is the end result of a chase, a pursuit, several shots fired. We are now working to learn exactly what went down here, how many people have been arrested and if anyone was hurt, that information is forthcoming. But as you guys also mentioned, it was an active search where at one point we had the Cleveland Fire Department with their ladder truck extended up to a rooftop nearby trying to locate potential suspects. Take a look at this video. We were there for each play by play development. Our overnight news tracker captured this scene at the corner of East 40th and Commerce. It was right here. We spotted a Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office cruiser crashed into the side of a building. This is technically a local business out here. The initial call came in around 2 30 this morning for dozens of shots fired right in the area of East 40th and Quincy. Shortly after our overnight news tracker followed a chase involving a Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office cruiser and a Kia moments later that Kia crashed into a pole nearby at East 40th and kelly right down the road from where we're standing. At this point, police are still searching for a suspect or potentially multiple suspects. We did spot them arresting at least two people who were attempting to hide in the bed of a pickup truck right in this area. In the meantime, we have also witnessed officers on the roof of a building nearby searching. We mentioned all of those drones and back out here live. Here is a live look at this scene, a very active scene right here on the corner of East 40th and Commerce. Now you can see multiple agencies are out here responding. You see a sheriff's cruiser getting closer to that building. In addition, we saw Cleveland Police, South Euclid Police and Parma Police and then consider you have multiple cars pulling out of this nearby. It looks like almost like an industrial business, some type of factory right here. It looks like it's shift change right now. That's why we have all this commotion right here.
