The search area for missing man, Sam Fowler, was drastically expanded today, spanning more than 50km of coastline along Melbourne's Port Phillip Bay. It's day two of desperate efforts to locate the 26-year-old fisherman, whose boat capsized late on Friday night off Mornington. He was out with a mate when the fibreglass boat overturned about 11pm. His friend was rescued by another boat, but Sam couldn't be found. Their vessel has been recovered and will play a major role in investigating exactly how this all unfolded. Weather conditions today meant that it was more difficult to search the water, but authorities began at seven this morning and continued through the wind and rain. Tomorrow's efforts will be focused from above, with the air wing to play a major part. Sam's family say they are hanging in there, gathered again today down at the pier, waiting on any news of the recovery of their loved one.
