The United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission noted that June saw the highest monthly civilian casualties in three years, with over 230 killed and more than 1,300 injured.

The Air Force said it had shot down 25 missiles and more than 300 drones, as well as jamming over 250 drones using electronic warfare. But officials said western cities of Lviv, Lutsk and Chernivtsi suffered the most during the overnight attack. In Lviv, on Ukraine's border with Poland, 46 residential houses were hit, along with civilian infrastructure. This resident emerged from the bomb shelter to find her home destroyed. In the bomb shelter, we could hear explosions and drones flying above us, and we saw the destruction on our street. We thought it was somewhere near our street. Then we got a phone call from neighbours who wanted to check on us. And when we returned, we saw the destruction. Russia has significantly ramped up its drone and missile strikes on Ukraine since June. Zelensky issued a fresh call for tough sanctions on Russia and more air defence for Ukraine. The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine said June saw the highest monthly civilian casualties in three years, with 232 killed and more than 1,300 injured.

On June 12, the London-bound Boeing 787 crashed in Ahmedabad. All 230 passengers on board, except for one, were killed.
