A stationary front stretched across the south will bring stormy weather and heavy rain for much of today and through this week. Three to five inches of rain or more are expected to fall in parts of southern Georgia and the Florida panhandle through Thursday. Flooding is possible with the associated ongoing rain.

Tropical moisture combined with a stalled frontal boundary along the Gulf Coast is causing unsettled weather across the Southeast. Showers and thunderstorms are expected daily throughout the week, increasing the risk of flooding in regions such as the Carolinas, Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle.

Rainfall totals could reach three to five inches in some areas, with cities like Savannah already experiencing significant precipitation. While some locations need rain, the heavy and persistent nature of the showers raises concerns about localized flooding, particularly in central Georgia and northern Florida.

And we do have tropical moisture in place. Miners just talked about that tie to the tropics, but we also have a frontal boundary that tried to make its way all the way down to Florida, but failed. So it's stalling out right along the Gulf Coast, right along the I-10 corridor, upper level disturbances keeping it unsettled right through the end of the week. So it's not just a today and tomorrow thing. It is gonna be every day this week where we'll have that chance for the showers and the thunderstorms. And depending on those rainfall rates, especially with the tropics involved, we could see an awful lot of rain here. Not just the Carolinas, but down into Georgia. Look at Savannah. You guys picked up more than a half an inch yesterday. We've got possibly three to five between now and the end of the week. It's possible we flood. We need the rain I mentioned in Charleston, but even Atlanta, we're down an inch. It's still possible we see flooding here. And again, from tomorrow into Tuesday morning, especially over central Georgia, down into the panhandle of Florida.
