East Coast of the United States

Multiple weather systems are forecast to impact the East Coast of the United States, bringing periods of rain, strong winds, and snow to various regions. New York City may see light rain, while Boston and areas further north are expected to experience more significant precipitation.

Higher elevations in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine could receive snow, providing a base for ski resorts. The Southeast, including the Tennessee Valley and Southern Appalachians, will also see much-needed rain, with frost advisories in effect for parts of the Carolinas and North Georgia.

We have another system that's going to be moving in. That's going to be bringing more wind, and we also have a coastal system, perhaps bringing more rain. Not necessarily, you know, New York City, perhaps seeing a few sprinkles, but more towards Boston. But this is the more powerful system that is centered up in Canada. But we have some of the strong wind that's moving in. And again, back to back systems moving in. So not too much of a break in the wind as we go throughout the week. This system that comes in, there's the low pressure Wednesday into Thursday. This is more likely to bring some of the snow as some of those snow levels come down. Parts of New Hampshire into Vermont and Maine. This is a nice base layer for a lot of those ski resorts that are probably dying to get open. We have areas that we'll see up to about an inch of rain. So the rainfall, yes, we will see it, but I think it's going to be the snow that a lot of us will notice there up at those higher elevations, Kelly, as we approach some of those opening dates for those ski resorts. Let's take a look at this other low, this kind of diving down through the Tennessee Valley into the southeast, giving us some much needed rain. We still need it very badly across. You know much of the Blue Ridge here. The Southern Appalachians, where right now it's kind of a frosty start. We've had frost advisories in effect for many of us through the Carolinas, and even into North Georgia, where Atlanta got down to 42, but some of the outside areas, Marietta, Cartersville may have gotten down into the 30s. Here's look at the rain that starts to come on through Kentucky and Tennessee by later on tonight. I would say your college football games for the most part across the southeast in pretty good shape, but will start to bring the rain down and focus on heavier rain that develops along the Carolina coast up into Virginia. This rain could be quite heavy, and even the winds will be kicking up to once again as we head into the early part of the week.
