Hundreds of pro-Palestine demonstrators are marching across Brisbane's Story Bridge after it reopened earlier in the week. Police are currently working to keep a counter-protest group attempting to disrupt the protests.

Hundreds of protesters assembled in Brisbane to cross the recently reopened Story Bridge, demonstrating in solidarity with Gaza. The protest was organized after the Brisbane City Council declined to display Palestinian colours on the bridge, citing guideline conflicts. 

A group of Australian counter-protesters was also present, and police maintained a significant presence to keep the groups separated and ensure the event remained peaceful. Officers stated that unlawful behaviour would not be tolerated during the demonstration.

Taylor there's a huge crowd behind us there are hundreds that are trying to cross the Story Bridge now braving the rain and it's been months that they've been refused to cross the bridge after a court order and actually due to the bridge being closed for repairs. Now the bridge only just reopened on Thursday and organisers say that they are actually deciding to cross the bridge due to the Brisbane City Council refusing to show the Palestinian colours on the bridge saying that it doesn't match with their guidelines. Now people are here showing their flags all in solidarity and grief to the people in Gaza. Taylor there is also a group of Australian counter protesters here trying to stop the march. There's a heavy police presence that you can see here and they are trying to keep the two groups apart for a peaceful protest and officers say they won't tolerate any unlawful behaviour.
