Marking one year of a recreational cannabis rollout like watching a plant blossom. That's been a bit of a slow burner statewide. I think that staggered approach uh have left some of us frustrated a little bit for industry insiders like Brie Trent. It's kind of a start low and go slow just like we recommend for usage. Trent is the general manager of Terrasana dispensary in Warren County. I do think we're taking the right steps and we're not making the same mistakes that some other states have by jumping in head first. The spot in Middletown opened back in april. They told me the story has been a slow but steady growth in business ever since week day. I would say 100 110 weekends. We're starting to push 200 since launch day last august state data shows Ohio dispensaries have generated more than 700 million in adult use sales. Ohio has received more than 70 million in cannabis excise taxes from it. We've seen sales go about 22 times uh what they were in the medical side of things. Kaveh Azadeh co owns Cincinnati's only cultivator King City Gardens. He says a big boost in business is on the horizon. The state will soon allow dispensaries to sell pre rolled joints. A lot of markets it represents about 15 to 20% of the overall sales. It's going to be insane for a second just because the availability it's going to be wild. But with every win comes another hurdle. Trent says advertising restrictions have hampered business. If we talk in a year's time, what do you hope changes from now until that advertising? My biggest thing that I could change is if we could get out there and be like, hey, hi, this is us. This is why we're here. Please come see us.
