The NRL is currently celebrating its 10th Indigenous round, a two-week event that highlights and honours Indigenous culture within the sport. Parramatta Eels player Josh Addo-Carr expressed pride in participating, noting the involvement of Indigenous athletes, artists, and the broader community in the celebrations. 

Each club is wearing a specially designed jersey for the round, with the Parramatta Eels' jersey featuring symbols such as the Parramatta wattle leaf and river, representing the club's history and local environment. Addo-Carr also shared the personal significance of representing his culture in front of his family and discussed upcoming matches and celebrations planned for the round.

Yes the race to the finals is heating up but for the next two rounds in the NRL all eyes are on the Indigenous culture. I'm pleased to be joined by Parramatta star Josh Adoka. Josh in its 10th season the NRL will acknowledge Indigenous round just what's it mean? Yeah it means it's something very special obviously two weeks we get to represent the Indigenous culture and something I'm very proud of and to be a part of. I get to play the game but just seeing all the community get involved all the young kids all the young athletes Indigenous athletes come through and celebrate the week with us and all the Indigenous artists that design the jerseys for all 17 clubs so it's something I love seeing and the kids love too. Every club does a great job in designing a jersey and involve their Indigenous stars how much involvement did you have in in the Eagles jersey? I didn't have involvement in this one Jermaine Hopgood and Arthur Miller-Stevens had it last year I got next year's one but I did learn about this jersey so this is six generations of the Parramatta Eels Club this is got the Parramatta wattle leaf so when the eels swim upstream to lay their eggs these blossom and then you obviously got the Parramatta River so I only learned that last week and I'm super proud to be a Parramatta player and be a part of this club. And to be here on stage representing your culture in front of your son today how much does that mean? It means the absolute world my son means everything my kids mean everything to me and just seeing you know the smile on his face and seeing his dad up on stage and doing his thing is hopefully he can be the I don't know if I want him to play footy maybe another sport earn a bit more money but you know I'm super proud to be his dad. You host the Cowboys this week and then you're here at Allianz Stadium against the Rabbitohs what sort of tri celebrations can we expect from the Fox? Probably just the go-to the Fox trot the shake a leg. As I said the eels host the Cowboys this week and then they will be here for the gadoo gathering against the Rabbitohs along with two other games here at Allianz Stadium to finish the 10th indigenous round what a two weeks we have ahead of us in rugby league.
