Tropical Storm Melissa is no longer considered a tropical system and is now classified as a wind and rain storm. As it moves past Newfoundland, it is expected to bring gusts of 40 to 60 mph and 1 to 2 inches of rain, marking the end of its impact in North America. 

The storm may bring some wind and rain to the northern British Isles and parts of Iceland. The east coast of the United States, north of Jacksonville and west of Tallahassee, is likely finished with tropical threats for the 2025 hurricane season, though a small chance of development remains for central and south Florida due to possible activity in the Caribbean.

Still a powerful storm, but it's transitioning to a cold core storm and we're looking at 1 to 2 inches of rain. It's going to be blitzing past Newfoundland and that'll be it for its impact in North America. It will bring a little bit of wind and rain to the northern British Isles parts of Iceland early next week. Now, here's some good news for you. The east coast of the U. S. At least north of Jacksonville and also west of, say, Tallahassee, probably done with tropical threats for the 2025 hurricane season. Now we haven't fully closed the door for central and south florida just because there's a small chance of development still in the Caribbean moving forward. And the year as a whole here has brought many storms into the western Atlantic. Only one U. S. Landfall. That was shot tall back on July 4th. Barry was the only gulf storm and the only storm in the Caribbean the whole season was Melissa, but it certainly only takes one as a horrific impact in western parts of Jamaica. If we see any storms in November, the next one would be Nestor. Could we see another storm? Well, there's a small chance that we can see some development in the southern Caribbean. You can see there's still a small minority of storms that do form in November, early November and mid November. Breeding grounds kind of reflect the southward migration of the jet stream and increase in wind shear. There's a lot of wind shear, the deep purple across the entire gulf, and that's probably gonna be the case for the better part of the rest of the year. So that's shutting off any potential there and wind shear again. When wind shear is strong, it makes storms really disrupted. It makes the stack of pancakes lopsided, so it prevents them from being organized.
