This marks Indiana as the second state, after Florida, to permit the Department of Homeland Security to use state-run facilities for federal immigration enforcement under a 287(g) agreement, which allows state law enforcement to act as federal immigration officers.

The new facility is expected to house approximately 1,000 detainees, with federal incentives encouraging other states to adopt similar measures. Additionally, recent legislation has allocated significant funding to ICE, enabling the hiring of 10,000 new employees and the removal of the age cap for new officers, further escalating immigration enforcement efforts.

Well, this facility this facility in particular is planning to house about a 1,000 immigrant detainees And yes there are other efforts by the administration to persuade and convince other states and jurisdictions across the country with friendly governments to allow ice to use their facilities to detain people FEMA actually has already posted a notice on its website to have those states apply for Reimbursement with federal funds to fund those efforts to detain people awaiting deportation now switching from these controversial facilities To some new reporting that we understand you have on an ice Age gap for officers age cap.
