Despite this transaction, Robert Kraft and his family continue to hold an overwhelming majority ownership of the team. The Patriots, originally purchased for $175 million in 1994, have seen their value rise dramatically over the past decades, reflecting broader trends in sports franchise valuations.

The deal ranks as the third highest valuation for a sports franchise, following teams like the New York Giants and Los Angeles Lakers. While there is no public information on how the funds from the deal will be used, the Kraft family has indicated no intention to sell their stake in the team. The Patriots' strong market position, real estate assets, and history of success contribute to their high valuation.

And the original owner is Robert Kraft and his family. They continue to maintain overwhelming majority ownership here. The stat that really surprised me was how much they paid for the team back in 1994. Absolutely 175 million. That's crazy. Yeah. Now this franchise is worth nine billion dollars. And you see this in the biggest thing is that what people are realizing is you don't want to control these assets forever because they're appreciating over time. I mean a decade ago who knows what the Patriots are worth maybe one or two billion. And now a decade has passed and now they're close to 10. So who knows what they could be in a decade from now when when Roger Goodell is talking about renegotiating media deals which is ultimately going to raise valuations even higher. Nine billion is not the highest thing we'll see from from doing probably not any word on what the Patriots are going to use the money for what Robert Kraft is going to use the money for. Not from mine. I haven't heard it. But the private equity dollars can be placed anywhere. I mean it could be put into assets that Robert Kraft owns. It could be put into stadium stuff. It could be anything. OK. So but they plan to stay invested in this in this team. They're not going anywhere. No not at all. Robert Kraft is not interested in selling the Patriots at all. So in terms of the big sports deals overall that we've seen and this has been kind of a banner a couple of years for these kinds of deals where does this one rank. This is the third highest valuation I think in terms of what we've seen from from sports period is this doesn't surprise me. I mean when you're talking about the Giants the Lakers and now the Patriots from a market perspective Boston is right on track. The Patriots have a lot of real estate around their stadium as well. And of course they have six Super Bowl championships and a rookie quarterback. So they could be well on track to do more.
