Federal authorities have revealed new details regarding a bomb plot targeting MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. Mary Zhang, accused of assisting her brother Alan Zhang in placing an improvised explosive device (IED) near the base's visitor center, appeared in federal court, while her brother is believed to be in China.

Investigators highlighted Mary Zhang's search history and travel patterns as key evidence, and federal prosecutors argued she is a flight risk. The FBI continues to search for Alan Zhang, but the lack of an extradition treaty with China complicates efforts to bring him to the United States. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities also questioning the siblings' mother.

While and Mary Jane was here in federal court in Tampa, her brother is believed to still be on the run in China. The federal attorney's office said that she was not involved in the attack, and no details came out in court on Tuesday about how Zhang allegedly helped her brother. 27 year old and Mary Zhang's search history was the top argument during a detention hearing Tuesday, according to reports from the Tampa Bay Times. Last week, the U. S attorney's office of the Middle District of Florida laid out a timeline detailing Zhang and her 20 year old brother, Alan Zhang's whereabouts. The investigation continues, and investigators are still on the hunt for the IED. MacDill Air Force Base Visitor Center then called 911. The next day, the American born brother and sister reportedly sold their car. Then the day after that they were on a plane to China. Six days after the bomb was planted, a service member found it near the visitor center. On March 17th, agents say and Mary flew back to the U. S. And the next day, investigators found the U. S. Air Force Base Visitor Center. The U. S. Air Force Base Visitor Center is still on the hunt for Alan Zhang. The FBI has agents stationed in China. Their job is to build liaison with law enforcement and intelligence communities over there. And they'll ask if they can find this person. They'll ask that they can talk to him, or they'll ask it. They'll do an interview for the FBI. They're not going to be overly supportive of if he is an American citizen who did a terrorist act here. The U. S. has no extradition treaty with China. The U. Last week, the feds said their last notification indicated Alan is still in China because the investigation is so young right now they need to see if there's other people involved.
