Families of the hostages dead and alive demonstrated outside the UN. Many long accusing Netanyahu of blocking a deal to end the war. Nadav Rudeyev lost his father on October 7th. Only thing we're trying to do now is convince everyone else all world leaders that this is what needs to happen now. The war needs to end. In Washington, Donald Trump told reporters a deal is close. It's going to be peace. I think we have a deal. Netanyahu gave no indication of that. And there was little mention of the suffering of Palestinians beyond denying Israel was deliberately targeting civilians. This is the aftermath of an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City. Few here would have heard Netanyahu's speech when she claimed Israeli intelligence was live streaming to Gazans mobile phones. I didn't hear anything says Umm Mohamed Wadi. We didn't get voice notes and God willing we won't. She's counting on the international community to end the war. But with the world's leaders gathered in New York and all the pleas for peace Gaza looks set to bleed a while longer. Margaret Evans, CBC News, London.
