It’s Week 3 of the NCAA football season, which includes three top-25 matchups. How will weather impact the biggest matchups of the week?

The matchup in Knoxville between the Tennessee Volunteers and the Georgia Bulldogs is expected to take place under sunny skies with temperatures in the 80s, with no rain concerns.

In contrast, the game between South Florida Bulls and Miami Hurricanes in Miami may be affected by continued rain and a flood threat, with the possibility of scattered storms and lightning delays. Meanwhile, the Texas A&M versus Notre Dame game in South Bend is expected to see only cloudy skies and comfortable temperatures in the upper 70s, as earlier rain predictions have improved.

It is the greatest time of the year. In my opinion, it is college football season. My name is Mark Willard and I'm joined by digital meteorologist Caitlin Kaiser. Are you killing? Let's go ahead and get into it. The number one game of the year of the season. It's a bit dramatic in my opinion. OK, my dogs are in action versus the Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville, TN. What's the weather going to be like in Knoxville? So the weather in Knoxville, no rain concerns whatsoever. We're looking at sunny skies. We're looking at the 80s. Yeah, ignore the dogs. Let's get on to the next one. Just brutal, just quick note. UGA is a 3 1⁄2 point favorite looking for their ninth straight win versus. Let's move on. Let's move on to some games that are actually going to be affected by some weather. Let's see 430 PM on Saturday. The surprise team of the college football season number 18 South Florida Bulls take on the number five Miami Hurricanes in Miami. So I know Florida has been just absolutely pummeled this week by rain. Are we gonna have more rain in the forecast? What's the deal? Yeah, so there definitely is still more rain in the forecast. We're looking at flood threat continuing and you know the more rain that falls, the higher the flood threat. You know, we're just continuing to watch this really closely. Around game time 4 PM we could even see some scattered storms, so we're looking at that threat for lightning delay. You know no one likes a lightning delay. Nobody likes to get rained on a game, but this is one you'll probably want to bring a poncho to and just be prepared to stick it out. Yeah, absolutely. Sounds like it's going to be a wet one. So with that said, with rain being a big factor, in my opinion, let's keep an eye on the South Florida quarterback Byron Brown to have a big game on the ground. He had two touchdowns in week one, so it could be a big game for him. Alright, moving on to game number three of the week, number 16, Texas A&M is traveling to number 8 Notre Dame in South Bend on Saturday. So earlier in the week, rain was in the forecast. Caitlin, what's the forecast going to be like in South Bend this weekend? Yeah, so we've been watching South Bend and we actually have seen a positive trend in the forecast. We'd love to see that we are not seeing chances of rain like we were expecting. So just some clouds, which everyone will take clouds over rain any day, obviously and the temperatures in the upper 70s. You know, I wouldn't complain about that. That sounds pretty nice.
