Everybody I've spoken to tells me they're just so excited to have this back and so many here in their beautiful and cultural regalia really rooted deeply in their ancestral ways and artistry celebrating not just the New Year, but the resilience and unity of this community. Dancing music feast, welcoming a new calendar year for the first time in at least over five years. The Milwaukee Intertribal Circle is bringing back a New Year's Eve pow wow, a sober celebration for all something Andrew of the Menominee tribe has been looking forward to. This coming back means a lot to everybody here in the community because they were kind of fading away a lot of pow wows. And this year we've had more powers than we've had in many years, a sign of unity and truly a family gathering as Andrew will not be dancing alone. His daughter Esperanza is also taking part. It means the world to me. It really does that passing that culture, tradition, languages she speaks to. So you know, that's that's very important thing for us not to let that go. But before the dancing begins a grand entry to honor and remember those who have served and passed on while showcasing tradition. It's led by veterans like Rick House, who served in the Marine Corps and is part of the Oneida tribe. The most important people about this pow wow are watching not a TV screen. They're watching from above, and we're here to demonstrate that we're still here on this New Year's Eve. A family comes together, carrying on heritage from one generation to the next, like Andrew and his daughter, everyone coming together and basically dancing together intertribally, you know, and expressing themselves and who they are in a good way, you know, in a very good way, reigniting a tradition that once disappeared now back and for this community, hopefully for years to come.
