A shooting incident occurred at a Merryland home, where a vehicle was targeted in a brazen attack. A car reportedly approached the Mile Street residence just before 10pm, unleashing a hail of bullets before speeding away. The assault resulted in five shots hitting Sheena Williams' vehicle, a resident and disability worker who lives at the property with her husband, nephew, and two work colleagues. Williams expressed profound frustration, detailing the personal investment into the vehicle that was damaged in the incident.

In the wake of the event, the local community was left shaken, though thankfully, no injuries were reported. Witnesses, including one who humorously noted they emerged in their underwear to assess the situation, described the scene as shocking. The aftermath saw the perpetrators abandon and set the targeted vehicle on fire in Bass Hill, further adding to the incident's severity.

Authorities are currently in pursuit of the assailants, believed to have been driving a white Hyundai hatchback. They have suggested that this attack was a case of mistaken identity, strongly emphasizing that the occupants of the attacked home have no known affiliations with organized crime. This incident marks the second occurrence of a drive-by shooting misidentifying its target within the same week. The police have yet to find the weapon used or to make any arrests in connection with the shooting.

I came around in my undies, I thought what's going on? So I can get out of my gears, you know. It's the way to ski. The vehicle was then dumped and set alight in Bass Hill. Car over here, it was full tilt, mate. Unbelievable. Police now looking for the driver of a white Hyundai hatchback who may not have acted alone. Police say the alleged criminals targeted the wrong car and got the wrong house, confirming they believe none of the five occupants have any links to organised crime. The residents of the premises we believe had nothing to do with crime, gangs, drugs or anything. It's the second case of mistaken identity in a drive-by shooting this week. Whoever did this, I tell you, don't come around this house. We have nothing to do with whatever business you're in. Police are yet to uncover a weapon or make arrests. Sarah Naven, 410 News First.
