Derby day kicked off with a pop and fabulous Flemington was back in bloom, crowds of black and white descending upon the racecourse for the first day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival. Today's an extra special one, this is my first Bucks day, hopefully my only one. As always the outfits were full focus, racegoers putting their most stylish foot forward. I enjoy as a hobby doing fashions so I had the shells designed in cad and I've attached them to the mesh skirt. So this is your own creation? Yes it is. For the men it was all about the hat and cane and of course the millinery to match. The Oscars for us really as milliners because we get to see all our work, it's all on display. If there's one sure bet in Flemington it's that inside the birdcage you're bound to do some celebrity spotting. About 5,000 attendees enjoy each race day in the birdcage with every marquee vying to host the best guest list. For AFL stars, international celebrities and racing royalty it was the place to be. This is actually my first horse race, it's my first derby race and I'm so thrilled to be here. You've got the best of the best here in everything, look at all these amazing marquees, the setup of Flemington is just like nothing else around the world so it's really special.
