A collision occurred just before 1am on Beneroon Road in Belmore, NSW, when an Isuzu ute struck a car, trapping its driver. The driver managed to escape without assistance, while the two occupants of the ute fled the scene, with one briefly returning to retrieve an item before leaving.

The impact caused the car to ricochet into two parked vehicles. The injured driver was taken to hospital for head and neck injuries and later released. Police have not yet located the ute driver, though a man presented himself at Campsie Police Station; his involvement remains unclear as investigations continue.

Just before 1am, it was all quiet at Belmore, before a ute driver turned the night around. The Isuzu had been driving down Beneroon Road when it smacked into the unlucky car and left the driver trapped. After crawling into the back seat, he managed to pull himself out, but he wouldn't be getting any help from the two people in the ute. One of them calmly left the scene. His mate almost appeared to have a change of heart, but after ducking back to grab something, he too makes his escape. It actually could happen, but to hit and run, that's kind of coward. After it was smashed by the ute, the Polestar sedan ricocheted into two parked cars. Its driver was taken to hospital for treatment to his head and neck, and has since been released. Yeah, incredible how they managed to walk away from it. Police were unable to locate the driver. A man later showed up here at Campsi Police Station, but his level of involvement in the crash is still unclear. He was released this morning as the investigation continues. He will eventually get caught, so at least do the right thing and help if you can. Not to just run away and leave someone injured. Hannah Stewart, 10 News.
