A residential street in Emu Plains, Sydney, was locked down after a family dispute at dinner resulted in the alleged stabbing death of a 58-year-old man. His son, Evan Clark, 30, was arrested at the scene and later charged with his father's murder.

Police reported that the family has a history of domestic violence, though no recent incidents were recorded between the father and son. Detectives searched the property for evidence and are currently interviewing witnesses as part of their investigation.

Every inch of their family home and a granny flat searched by detectives, with mountains of evidence taken away. There are a number of witnesses which we're speaking to at this time. Police allege the family has a history of domestic violence, but there haven't been any incident reports made between the pair in recent years. You can't say that you feel endangered or anything because there was no hint that there was any problem in the street in the first place. For someone's family to start off the long weekend in such tragic circumstances is very tough. Long memories tainted in a matter of minutes by whatever sparked this nightmare altercation.
