Those who are used to going out ten times a day with their cars or motorcycles must now understand that we are in a difficult period, and therefore they must reduce their trips. I thank people for their patience, but they must understand that this situation will continue for the time being. Militants from the JINIM group announced a ban on fuel imports from neighbouring countries into Mali in early September. During the escort of the fuel tanker convoy, people are dying. There are ambushes on the roads, and tankers are catching fire with the people inside them who are burning to death, despite all this fuel is still getting into cities. If fuel is delivered while people are dying and others are being injured, and someone takes this fuel and hides it or sells it at a high price, they are doing the enemy's bidding. In Mali's capital Bamako, endless queues are stretched in front of gas stations, with some residents spending nights waiting.
