A power outage at the West Fourth Street subway station in New York City caused major disruptions across several subway lines, impacting thousands of commuters. The outage, attributed to a tripped breaker, affected the signaling system and led to severe delays and partial suspensions of B, C, and D train services, as well as rerouting of F trains and delays on the A train.

Despite the disruption, trains maintained power and air conditioning, and crews were able to reset the breaker. However, the incident occurred during a period of high temperatures, compounding difficulties for passengers. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) advised travelers to check for updates and consider alternative travel plans as delays and disruptions continued.

It's a real headache for commuters trying to get in and out of Manhattan today. We already know we're in the middle of a heat wave in the city right now. It's about 95 degrees, and we're not even at the peak of what the temperature supposed to reach by the end of the day, so we don't know what's going to happen in the next couple of days. But on the bright side, that's already a nightmare. Add on severely delayed trains as well. Now the MTA says there was a power loss to a signaling system at West Fourth Street this morning a little bit before 8 30 A.m. Authorities say the power outage turned out to be a breaker that had tripped and crews were able to reset the breaker, but it still had implications on commuters and passengers. We saw a lot of people on the ground. A lot of people on the ground. A lot of people on the ground seating s o. They were slow moving, but on the positive side, there was air conditioning on the trains. Trains were not without power. So trains that they were not stuck in any specific position. It was just really slow moving to get customers on their way. As of right now, B and C service is suspended in both directions. D trains are partly suspended between Atlantic Ave and West Fourth Street. And B and C trains are partially suspended between Delancey Street, Essex Street and Forest Hills. 71st Ave now F trains are being rerouted to G train tracks, and the A train is still experiencing severe delays, and commuters are left scrambling in the extremely hot subway stations having to transfer or wait for these delayed trains this morning in a chaotic scene underground. I've been on two different subways, and I'm not sure what can I do? I mean, I'm a retired person. It's no way could be for me now. We do have a movie to go to, but I mean, we might be a few minutes late. That's it. We'll be fine. And the MTA service is still experiencing delays and disruption. So if you have to take the subway today to make sure to check the MTA's website or make alternative travel plans and, of course, be prepared to deal with the heat down in the subway stations if you have to spend a little extra time waiting for your train, Antoine.
