In addition to the heat, some areas such as St. Louis are experiencing flooding, adding to the hazardous conditions. The heatwave is expected to continue and spread, affecting more areas in the coming days, including the Northeast.

The apex of the heat right there in the nation's midsection, the Northeast dealing with, again, a little bit of a calmer day coming up and through here. But the heat's coming. Just hang in there.
