The National Hurricane Center has now designated the area of low pressure about 900 miles east of the Lesser Antilles as Invest 94L. As of now, chances for development remain low, however, conditions appear somewhat favorable for development over the next day or so as this low moves northwest toward the Lesser Antilles.

Invest 94-L, currently located in the central Atlantic, is expected to have a short lifespan as it moves northwest into an area of drier air. Although the system is passing over warm waters, the presence of dry, stable air—partly due to Saharan dust—makes the environment unfavorable for significant development. 

Meteorologists note that as Invest 94-L continues its trajectory, the atmospheric conditions are not conducive to strengthening. The combination of dry air and stable atmospheric conditions is expected to limit the system's potential.
