Commissioner last Friday as you watched that graduation ceremony, had you decided it was time to retire? It had been on my mind for a little while and so being there on Friday, I'd mentioned it because it was on my mind. Choosing policing over accounting, what followed is a decorated career, culminating in her appointment as the 23rd Commissioner. Commissioner-elect Webb was not appointed on the basis of her gender, she was appointed on the basis of her talent and her leadership skills. Skills tested over her three-year tenure confronted with multiple controversies, including the taser death of 95-year-old Claire Nowland and the murders of Jessie Baird and Luke Davies allegedly by an off-duty officer. The gifting of taxpayer-funded gin also creating headlines, despite predecessors doing the same. Is there something you look back on as a regret? I don't look at things like regret, I like to see things, you know, that I learn from things. While her public performance was often scrutinised. There will always be haters, haters like to hate, isn't that what Taylor says? So too was her internal management. Look it's been rocky, that's the only way you can describe it. Supporters though praise her as a positive reformer, securing paid study for recruits and an historic pay rise. That has been a landmark. She is a true trailblazer. A leader who practised what she preached. Every day will be a different day and every day you will make a difference. Do you think you've done that over 38 years? I think so. If I look back and think about those members of the community I've interacted with, the victims I've spoken to, the people I've arrested, I think I've made a difference, yes. I can sleep at night knowing I have.
