The Supreme Court was told there had been an earlier, aborted attempt on Nazlioglu's life, and the prosecution presented surveillance footage and evidence of vehicles and a getaway car being torched. The defence argued that the case is circumstantial, highlighting doubts about the identity of the shooter and the relevance of clothing and vehicle ownership. The jury has been presented with evidence about the accused's phone locations and is expected to deliver a verdict soon.

This is the moment Yusuf Nazlioglu was shot at least eight times in an underground car park at Rhodes in 2022. His panicked wife, Jade Heffer, leapt out of the vehicle and fled, visibly trembling. Today the Supreme Court was told there was an aborted plan to shoot Nazlioglu a day earlier, but by June 27 his killers had succeeded. Three men are now on trial for murder, having pleaded not guilty. In closing Supreme Court arguments, Defence Barrister Scott Fraser told the jury, What you were looking for was a warm blanket, something that would wrap the case up. But that's not what you've been given. What you've been given is a case with holes, holes of doubt, so many of them. The jury was shown a complex web of videos of vehicles being tracked and a getaway car being torched nearby. The defence told the courtroom packed with supporters and family that this is a circumstantial case. Abdul Rahman Attayah's barrister argued his client is too short to be the shooter and said clothing can't be relied on. Perhaps there were a run of Adidas tops promoted by some sports star. Suddenly the case isn't so strong. And while Mohammed Khaled owned this scooter, his barrister argued it doesn't mean he used it to flee the scene. The jury was also given a long list of locations the accused phones were pinged at, with the Crown alleging they left their devices at home knowing they would be tracked as they set off to kill someone.
