The Sports Authority of India Centre in Sonipat, in the outskirts of New Delhi, is one of the few training facilities in the country that can welcome para-athletes. For his training, Taram Bir can rely on the support of his cousins. I feel proud of him. He went to Paris and won the medal. The whole village was so enthusiastic, everyone is behind him. It is not just about the player, but the whole country. Taram Bir has been named flag-bearer for the Indian Para-Athletics Delegation for the World Championship in New Delhi, an honour and a message of hope for all young Indians living with disabilities. Whenever there is a huge competition, beginners try to meet athletes, so whenever kids come to me, I do whatever I can to help them and guide them. On the 2nd of October, Taram Bir will compete for the world title in club throw F51, with the ambition of winning gold at home.
