Snipers, bombings, ambushes. We're very much in a highly politicized moment. So I think in the wake of Charlie Kirk's death, they're deciding to, I guess, not fan the flames or try to step back and reassess. Apple hasn't explained why, but Chastain, who's an executive producer on the series, says she's, quote, not aligned on the decision to pause its release, citing a number of violent attacks aimed at both sides of the political spectrum since she began working on the show five years ago. Chastain says, while I wish this show wasn't so relevant, unfortunately, it is. The Savant is about heroes who work every day to stop violence before it happens, and honoring their courage feels more urgent than ever. My job is pretending to think like them to stop those people from doing really bad things. I think that's what she's trying to say. Like, this is not the time to run and hide or be scrambling or whatever the case may be. Because of all of this kerfuffle, it's probably gonna get a much bigger audience than it may have initially.
