The Utah Jazz have revealed plans to build a new practice facility at the Shops at South Town in Sandy, Utah.

The Utah Jazz have revealed plans to build a new practice facility at the Shops at South Town in Sandy, Utah. The announcement was made by Ryan Smith, who described the upcoming facility as a hub for innovation and wellness, serving both the Jazz and the Utah Mammoth teams. The new complex is envisioned as a campus that will foster collaboration between the two franchises and provide expanded space for community involvement, including a significant area dedicated to community use on the hockey side.

Smith noted that the facility is designed to be world-class, drawing inspiration from international sports campuses such as Real Madrid's. Construction is already underway, and the project is expected to be completed in less than two years, although it may take longer than the recently finished Mammoth facility next door.

It will soon be the new home of the Utah Jazz practice facility. In fact, you can hear some of the construction going on behind these walls. Ryan Smith made the announcement today saying this will be a lab, a place where innovation and wellness are top of mind for both the jazz and the Utah mammoth. Of course, the mammoth facility opened up just next door about one a month ago and Ryan Smith was joking today how cool it was to see Mikhail Sergeyev and Chianti George stars of both teams walking together here. A collaborative experience as these two franchises that means so much to Utah will practice and train in this one facility here within about two years. Ryan Smith said he envisions this as a campus and I asked him what he hopes this eventually becomes, how big of a vision he has for this space. There's really not a facility like this with the room to spread out. I recently toured Real Madrid. That's about the closest thing I've seen as far as a world-class campus. But if you also think about, I mean, there's 20 or 30,000 square feet for just the community on the hockey side. We'll be building the ability for the community to be a much bigger part of these brands. If you're wondering about a timetable when this may be completed, Ryan Smith said it probably won't be as quickly as the mammoth facility got done, but he said most likely this will be all completed within less than two years.
