I-24 News correspondent Balir Slidin was in Hostages Square and files this report. During Netanyahu's press conference today, during his speech, the families of the hostages forum issued a statement about their response to his five principles for ending the war. And they said that the goals you presented today in the media briefings are yet another spin that misleads the public. And they are saying that the people demand an agreement, no more permission to publish, meaning no more soldiers being killed. They're demanding a comprehensive deal that would bring back all the Israeli hostages and end the war, if that's what it takes. And, of course, even though that one of the principles for ending the war is the freeing of the Israeli hostages, they did that live, but, of course, the families of the hostages are very afraid of this latest move by the Israeli small cabinet to capture or to occupy the city of Gaza, where a number of Israeli hostages, living ones, are believed to be held, either in the tunnels or in different areas, in that Hamas-controlled city, where it hasn't been touched, actually, since the beginning of the war, other than airstrikes during the 22 months of war. And that's why the families of the hostages are calling on Israelis to join them in protest during this week, but, more importantly, next Sunday, 17th of August, where they are calling on a strike, a complete shutdown for the state of Israel, in order to put pressure on the Israeli government. And tomorrow, they're going to be meeting with Arnon Ben-David, the chairman of the Histadrut, the National Israeli Workers Union, in order to seek his help. The assessment is that he wouldn't be able to join them officially in the strike, but definitely can help and assist them with their cause. That's why we are going to witness this meeting tomorrow. And a number of companies in Israel already announced that they are joining this strike. For example, Facebook and other high-tech companies in Israel will also be letting at least their workers to go for a strike, if they choose to do so, as well. So, we see that the families of the hostages, because they're afraid of this latest move, they want to increase the pressure and the efforts to put the pressure on Israel, on the Israeli government specifically. And they're taking all these steps right now, during the week, and especially next Sunday.
