The offensive follows a renewed push by U.S. and Qatari mediators to revive stalled ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas.

The intensified military action has led to continued airstrikes and ground operations, resulting in significant destruction and loss of life in Gaza. Aid agencies report dozens of deaths within a single day, and many Palestinians have been ordered by the Israeli military to evacuate their homes. These evacuations force families to relocate repeatedly, often without adequate supplies of food, water, or shelter.

More than two-thirds of Gaza has been declared a military no-go zone, while remaining areas are also described as unsafe. Israel has imposed a total blockade on Gaza, and reports indicate that no food or medicine has entered the region for over 75 days. According to aid organizations, hunger is widespread and famine is a growing risk. The World Food Programme has identified at least 14,000 children as severely malnourished, and clinics are struggling to provide care due to a shortage of medical supplies.

Israeli officials state that the blockade and offensive are aimed at pressuring Hamas to release the remaining hostages, but these efforts have not yet resulted in their release. Humanitarian agencies and local residents continue to raise concerns about the lack of essential supplies and the ongoing risk to civilian life.

For Palestinians, it's more of what they have endured with little respite for 19 months. Relentless bombing in areas already mostly reduced to rubble. A death toll that sees dozens killed in a single day. And Israeli orders to evacuate, forcing Palestinians to pack up and move once again. It is a journey even the youngest have done over and over throughout this war. For many, it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. We don't know where we're heading to, this woman said.
