The stop began when his mother was cited for an expired license, and escalated when Border Patrol agents arrived, resulting in one of Ambrosio's co-workers being pushed to the ground and tasered.

Border Patrol stated that the co-workers resisted arrest, leading to the use of force. Ambrosio was detained for six hours before being released, and all charges were dropped. The incident, which was captured on video, has drawn attention from advocacy groups and raised concerns about law enforcement practices during such stops.

An 18-year-old U.S. citizen captured on cell phone video what he calls his own violent arrest by immigration agents in Riviera Beach in South Florida back in May. Kenny Lenez Ambrosio told CNN after releasing the footage in July that his mom was driving two co-workers and him to work when a Florida highway patrol officer stopped them. The highway patrol officer on the scene wrote in a police report obtained by CNN that they were conducting a commercial vehicle inspection when they noticed Lenez's mother had an expired license. She was cited on a license violation, according to the police report. He just simply came up to the vehicle and said, like, where are you guys heading? That's when I spoke up and said, we're going to work. And we were just silently waiting there for him to come back to expect that my mom has a suspended license and that she shouldn't be driving the vehicle. He didn't get back the license. He was calling more for backup. Lenez says that's when the border patrol agents arrived. First of all, there's going to be no recording. I instantly clicked record as soon as she said that. About a minute later, officers pushed one of Lenez's co-workers, named Kevin, onto the pavement. What am I doing? Hey! Kevin! Get on the ground! You can't be doing that. CNN has reached out to Florida Highway Patrol for comment. U.S. Border Patrol, meanwhile, told CNN the agency reviewed the incident, claiming, like its agents had, that Lenez's co-workers resisted arrest, resulting in an agency deploying a taser on one of the men. I was scared for their life because of how everything can go out really bad. I was like, Kevin, don't resist, because he doesn't understand what the officers are saying. So I spoke up for him, but everything was just all over the place. So my voice wasn't enough for him to understand or listen. Y'all scaring the dude, bro. That's not how you arrest people. Why? I got rights to talk, bro. You got no rights here. Get up. I was born and raised here. The agents were seemingly unaware that the phone was recording, which later captured a candid conversation between the officers. Once she got that proper spurt on him, he was gone. He was running, bro. I'm starting to resist more now. We're going to end up... It's true. No, you can't do that. I'm not doing s**t. We told you already to get out. You either get out or I'm going to pull you out. Right. Goddamn. Nice. Just remember you can smell that, too, with a $30,000 bonus. Yeah. They're well aware of it. They're well aware that they're getting more aggressive, that they're starting to escalate. Hearing him say, oh, you know, next time we're going to shoot someone, they're very comfortable in their roles and the way that they're abusing their power. And that really has to scare all of us. CNN affiliate WSVN asked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis about the alleged $30,000 bonus the agents mentioned. How many illegals have been apprehended by state law enforcement? Thousands and thousands. Do you honestly think we could underwrite a $30,000 check for each illegal that was apprehended with those massive numbers? Of course not. Lainez, the 18-year-old U.S. citizen, was taken to a Border Patrol station and released after six hours. Charges were eventually dropped. I still fear for my life and my family's life.
