We are under a couple of extreme heat warnings for much of southern Arizona including us here in Phoenix. The return of temperatures over 110 degrees. Now the question is after some wonderful monsoonal moisture hit us is there gonna be more rain on the way? Well let's get started with a look at that radar and right now as you can see I'll step aside and show you really eastern portions of the state. I've been seeing just some isolated shower activity but it's been pretty dry for the most part. Dry and cooler as you just saw with your headlines and it looks as though we fell a little bit below or 105 that was expected. 104 is what we hit today but 105 is the norm so we're actually one degree below average. Now 115 that's a record for today that was hit in 2020. Oh my gosh that gives me PTSD but you know what we are anticipating yes temperatures that could potentially reach close to those 115 degree values. Now here's a look at future cast. I have just zoomed up here in Maricopa County. We're looking at a dry end to the weekend for the rest of your Sunday really. It looks as though across the mountains some rain potential may be sneaking through. You can see for areas along and south of the Phoenix area. So portions of southern Maricopa County, northeastern regions will say for Monday morning you can see right there increasing cloud cover still mostly sunny but it's gonna be sunshine mixed with clouds and you can even see that for your Monday evening. So on enough cloud cover and when it comes to rain potential for really the rest of the month of August we do have that outlook from the Climate Prediction Center coming up in just a bit but you can see very spotty light chances for that happening. If anything we are going to be on the drier ends dry and hot talking temperatures in just a bit but as far as temperature outlooks go this was just released today again by the CPC this for August 25th through the 31st all of that gray I should say indicates temperatures are a little bit average western Arizona a bit below when it comes to the temperature scale and as we wrap up August take a look at all of this green not just here in Arizona but for much of the West Coast I mean we're looking at above average rain potential so very exciting to see that temperatures dropping down at 85 here in Phoenix tomorrow temperatures are gonna bump up by a couple of digits with 97 out in Sedona that 10-day forecast is showing that gradual bump in temperatures remember Wednesday through Friday we are under extreme heat temperatures 113 for Thursday and Friday and then late next week we are looking at cooler temperatures and also greater chances for rain
