Hundreds of participants dressed as Santa Claus took to the slopes in Maine for the 25th annual Sunday Santa drive. The event, which requires full Santa attire, aims to raise money for local charities and this year collected $10,000 to be distributed among them.

The festive gathering featured creative costumes, including reindeer and Mrs. Claus outfits, and was attended by both adults and children. Despite the large number of Santas skiing together, the event proceeded safely with no injuries reported.

You look around, everyone's dressed up like Santa. You're required to wear a hat. You have to have a beard. The pants, the jacket, belt, the whole thing. It's kind of the fun of it. I saw one of them was a reindeer and the parent was behind them as Santa. It truly looks like the reindeer is pulling Santa's sleigh on skis. There was a few Grinches out there. I saw a couple of Mrs. Claus with almost a longer dress. People are creative. Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas. We were all lining up. Snow was coming down. All the kids were lined up watching all the Santas go by where the bunny hills are. Some of the Santas were high-fiving the kids. That was magical. This is an event that they do for a charity and that they'll keep doing. It's beautiful. It looked like Santa was running towards Christmas. It was really cool. Oh, what fun. The event raised $10,000 in total. It'll be split between the charities. And if you're thinking 300 Santas going down the hill all at the same time could spell trouble, you might be right. But we're told the Sea of Red actually moved pretty slowly. No one was hurt. No one hit a reindeer. All good.
