The campaign process has been notably affected by U.S. President Trump's tariffs, as well as his comments suggesting Canada could be better off as the 51st state of the U.S. These remarks have ignited a wave of Canadian nationalism, which appears to be a contributing factor to an increase in support for the Liberal Party. Once trailing by 20 points, the Liberals now lead by about four points.

President Trump has made public remarks on the election through Truth Social, wishing Canadians success in their decision-making process. He advised citizens to elect a leader capable of cutting taxes and increasing military power. Election results are anticipated by early next week.

It's a time for serious leadership. It's a time to come together and unite as a country because we need to fight. We need to build Canada strong. After the lost liberal decade of rising costs and crime, we cannot afford a fourth liberal term. We need a change with a new Conservative government. The election has been heavily influenced by President Trump's tariffs and his suggestions that Canada would be better off as the 51st U.S. state, prompting a surge in Canadian nationalism that has bolstered the Liberals' poll numbers.
